Fenerbahce are keen on keeping Vincent Janssen on loan for another year, according to Turkish publication Fanatik.

The Dutchman was allowed to leave for Turkey on a season long loan deal in the summer, but a toe injury he sustained in December means he has been sidelined for a number of months.

Despite missing a large part of the season, having played only 12 times in Turkey, and scoring three goals, Fenerbahce`s boss Aykut Kocaman is said to be keen to keep him.

It is believed the Yellow Canaries would like Vincent to stay to be part of full pre-season training so he can recover his form, and take a full part in next campaign. Whether we will allow a player we signed for £17m to go out on loan for a second year, it is debatable.

The 23-year-old is in line to return to full fitness sometime in April, and so his late season form could help us find a buyer, or even perhaps lead to him returning to us if Llorente is sold in the summer. At the moment, there is really no certainty over where he will playing once his current loan spell ends.

  • At least let the Turks pay his salary. Sure, if we find a buyer, sell him. But at least get someone else to pay him next year. Bad enough we are paying a salary for Llorente. Can’t imagine both of them on our payroll.

  • Would like him back – winner of Johan Cruyff young talent award for year spent with AZ and was prolific in front of goal scoring some spectacular finishes. Took up the challenge knowing full well Kane was no.1 and still came over – credit where credit is due. 1 sticking point is he takes up a foreigner’s spot then again so does Llorente. Wouldn’t be surprised if they did want to take him up for another year as this one has not been adequate to assess anything. Like I said would like him back and given a chance with our new attacking midfielder’s in place like Moura and a resurgent Lamela. The talent is definitely there it’s just how to get the best out of him by nurturing it.

  • I’m with you on that EJ but still, I find it very unlikely that VJ will be staying at Spurs for much longer.

  • Agree to have him back, trim and fit with a proper pre-season. Looking like we’re able to make decent chances without Kane and I’m sure he would benefit from a few tap ins.

  • @Hot Tottingham – I want to give you a personal thumbs up from the Pragmatic v Aesthetic thread; I think I was definitely inspired from what you had written a few posts before, although didn’t realise until somewhat after. I think we share a similar view, me old China. Top geezer! “……he’s magic, you knoo-oow!”

  • I think he will be sold he has 2 years left that is a time when you either sell or improve contract. You can’t loan him out and then find he has one year left. If he is loaned it will be to buy, but likely sold to highest bidder. I dontbthink he will want to come back, hasn’t the mental strength to cope with being Kanes under study and NO said he needed to do more in traingvwhich tells me he didn’t work hard enough. He is gone in summer imo.
